Jean CHEVRIER is a partner in the firm.
A lawyer since 1974, Jean CHEVRIER first practised in Saint-Etienne. In 1982 he joined the Paris firm of Maître GARNAULT, specialists in the aviation industry.
In 1992 he founded his own firm, specialising in aviation law.
Jean CHEVRIER has been, and still is involved in a number of cases relating to major air accidents, such as the Air Inter accident of 20th January 1992, better known as the ‘Mont Sainte-Odile’, Flash Airlines of 3rd January 2004 off the coast of Sharm-el-Sheikh, West Caribbean Airways of 16th August 2005 in Venezuela, Regional of 25th February 2007 at Pau Aerodrome, Air France ‘AF447’ of 1st June 2009, and Yemen Airways off the Comoros Islands of 30th June 2009. He is also involved in cases relating to light aircraft for sport and leisure. In this context he advises and represents clients from the civil and / or criminal perspective.
He works with airline companies, manufacturers of aircraft and aircraft equipment, support function operators, and international organisations, both in matters of counsel and litigation.
A significant part of his work concerns public entities, especially French airports and their insurers. He oversaw the legal cases which followed the 2004 accident at Terminal 2E, Roissy Charles-de-Gaulle airport.
He is a member of the French Society of Air and Space Law (SFDAS), and the longest serving member of the European Air Law Association (EALA).
Lecturing and Publications
For many years, Jean CHEVRIER trained young lawyers at the EFB (Studies for admission to the Paris Bar) and participated in the CAPA final qualification selection panels. He also gives seminars at the Air Transport Training and Research Institute (IFURTA) of the University of Aix-Marseille.
